Flexi Attachment MK2

The Flexi Attachment MK2 is a post-mounting bracket that positions Combisafe safety posts at a controlled offset from beam webs, walls, façades, shaft sides, and slab edges. The standard version adjusts up to 350 mm of offset, while the Full Flexi Attachment extends to 650 mm and the Cantilever Bracket reaches 1,000 mm from the fixing surface. Having three offset ranges in one product family means your site team can select the right configuration without switching to a different system.

Offset positioning is needed wherever a safety post fixed flush to a surface would leave a gap between the top of the barrier and the edge of the working platform. The Flexi Attachment MK2 closes that gap by moving the post outward, ensuring the steel mesh barrier covers the full edge. This scaffold attachment approach maintains EN 13374 compliance on façades and slab edges where standard direct-fix brackets would leave the geometry non-compliant.

The 4.8 kg standard unit installs on a wide variety of vertical surfaces using standard scaffold fittings, and the bracket's secure fixing mechanism keeps the post rigid under dynamic load. The Cantilever Bracket requires two posts per attachment for added stability at the full 1,000 mm extension, a detail worth confirming with your site supervisor before specifying for extreme cantilever situations.

Key features and benefits

  • Standard version provides adjustable offset up to 350 mm from the fixing surface (4.8 kg, code 74030)

  • Full Flexi Attachment extends offset to 650 mm for wider standout requirements (6.9 kg, code 74431)

  • Cantilever Bracket reaches 1,000 mm from the surface for maximum edge reach (17.6 kg, code 74433)

  • Installs on beam webs, walls, façades, shaft sides, and slab edges using standard scaffold fittings

  • Maintains EN 13374 compliance by positioning posts to cover the full working edge geometry

  • Cantilever Bracket requires two posts per attachment for stability at full extension

  • Compatible with all Combisafe Safety Posts and Steel Mesh Barrier panels

  • Available through Altrad Generation's UK and Ireland branch network on hire or for purchase

Frequently asked questions

Q: How do you fix edge protection to a slab edge?
A: Edge protection on a slab edge is typically installed using a bracket that positions the safety post at the correct offset from the slab face. The Flexi Attachment MK2 range provides offsets of 350 mm, 650 mm, and 1,000 mm to suit different slab geometries and cantilever distances. The bracket fixes to the slab edge or beam web using standard scaffold fittings, and a Combisafe Safety Post is then inserted into the bracket. A Steel Mesh Barrier locks between the posts to complete the EN 13374-compliant edge protection line.

Q: What is a cantilever bracket in edge protection?
A: A cantilever bracket extends a safety post outward from the fixing surface, allowing the post and barrier to cover the full working edge even where the structure prevents a flush fixing. The Combisafe Cantilever Bracket (code 74433) provides a 1,000 mm offset and requires two safety posts per bracket for stability. It is used on façades, beam webs, and slab edges where standard direct-fix or short-offset attachments would leave the edge geometry uncovered.

Q: What is the difference between a flexi attachment and a standard bracket?
A: A standard bracket fixes a safety post directly to a surface with little or no offset. The Flexi Attachment MK2 adds an adjustable arm that positions the post at 350 mm from the surface. The Full Flexi Attachment extends that offset to 650 mm, and the Cantilever Bracket reaches 1,000 mm. The choice between them depends on the distance from the fixing point to the edge being protected. All three are compatible with Combisafe Safety Posts and Steel Mesh Barriers and maintain EN 13374 compliance when correctly specified.
