The Uni-Roof temporary roof scaffolding system is an aluminium roofing solution built around 0.45m, 0.78m and 1.33m alloy lattice beams. Standard bay widths come in 2.072m, 2.572m and 3.072m, with other widths available on request for specialised applications. The system spans up to 50m and covers mono pitch and duo pitch roofing at 18 degrees and 36 degrees, giving you a flexible scaffold roof for almost any site. Uni-Roof has worked across industrial, commercial, historic and domestic projects for over 25 years.
You can erect Uni-Roof by hand, by crane or by roll-out, so most site requirements are covered. Each method reduces the need to work at height and speeds up both build and dismantle times. The system uses an alloy sheet tracking profile based on Keder technology, which lets you pull sheeting through the tracking to enclose each bay. Scaffolders often call this kind of cover a tin hat scaffolding system, and standard sheet tracking meets the needs of most temporary roofs without the added expense of specialist alternatives.
Deep Flow Sheet Tracking
Large roofing projects bring a real problem with rainwater run off. You need to manage that water to avoid ingress and damage to whatever you are protecting, and prestigious projects often demand even greater protection from the elements.
Deep Flow sheet tracking answers that need. It is a heavy duty aluminium profile with an integrated gutter system, and you can use it to install sheeting on temporary roofs or sidewall cladding. Here is what it gives you.
An integrated joining method, so fewer parts arrive on site and you cut out manual assembly.
Efficient rainwater channelling through an integrated sealed spigot.
Full compatibility with existing Uni-Roof and Ubix systems.
A strong aluminium profile that supports 2m to 2.4m bracing intervals.
A removable spigot, so you can stagger bays when you need to.
Increased weatherproofing across the whole roof.
A reduced mono pitch roof angle, down to 9 degrees.
*Deep Flow tracking is not a standard Uni-Roof component. It is available for hire and sale, so contact your local Altrad Generation branch for costings.*
Roll-Out Method
The roll-out method for Uni-Roof removes the need to work at height and speeds up installation. It works with temporary roofs or scaffold structures, giving you access beneath the covered working area, and you can choose from multiple options to match the demands of almost any project.
Trax Tube Bracket System
This system uses steel castings to join standard scaffold tubes into an effective track, so you can roll roof or scaffold structures along it.
Trax Uni Beam System
Here, steel beams with integrated scaffold tubes join together to form the rolling track. This version has a built in permanent anti-uplift feature, so it allows safe erection even in windy weather.
Both systems give you the same core benefits.
You eliminate work at height.
You speed up erection and dismantle times.
You can install or remove materials through the roof.
You choose anti-uplift or non-anti-uplift, depending on the site.
You get multiple tracking-to-beam-line connection options.
You stay compatible with traditional tube and fitting or system scaffolding.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How much does a temporary roof scaffolding system cost?
A. Cost depends on the size of the roof, the span, the bay configuration, the sheeting you choose and how long you need the system in place. Because Uni-Roof is supplied as a tailored scaffold system rather than as a fixed-price package, contact your local Altrad Generation branch for costings based on your project.
Q. What is a scaffolding roof called?
A. A scaffold roof like this is widely known as a temporary roof, and scaffolders often call it a tin hat. Uni-Roof is Altrad Generation's purpose built system for exactly this job, giving you a weatherproof temporary roof scaffolding solution rather than a generic cover.
Q. What is the best temporary roof cover?
A. It depends on what the project needs. Uni-Roof offers two sheeting options. The heavy duty 610gsm fabric sheeting is flame retardant, carries three years of anti-yellowing and anti-mildew performance, and still lets high levels of light through. The standard 300gsm PVC coated sheeting is translucent and lighter, and suits projects where the heavy duty specification is not required. Both use an 8mm Keder edge for a secure fit in the tracking.
