Altrad Generation's Standard 2.3m Bar Pedestrian Barriers are galvanised steel pedestrian barriers built for fast deployment on sites and at events. Manufactured from Pre-Galvanised Steel using Smartweld technology, each barrier measures 2262mm long and 1100mm high and weighs 8.5kg. The interlocking connection system allows you to build a continuous barrier run quickly and take it down just as fast.
Unlike fixed leg barriers, the Standard Bar Barrier uses separate, interchangeable feet. You can fit a double flat foot to reduce the trip hazard on smooth surfaces, or a thermoplastic foot to suit different ground conditions. For wind loading on exposed sites, a Barrier Ballast 10 or 14kg Barrier Ballast Block can be used to add stability. These pedestrian safety barriers are available in galvanised finish as standard and suit a wide range of applications: crowd management at outdoor events and festivals, construction site perimeter demarcation, road works and street works, vehicle crossing points, and queue management.
A Walk Through Barrier can be added to your barrier run to create a managed pedestrian access point. For low-light or roadside installations, a Reflective Strip improves visibility along the run. The barriers are lightweight enough for easy transport and storage between sites, making them a practical choice for hire fleets and multi-site operations.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What are crowd control barriers used for?
A. Crowd control barriers are used to guide and manage pedestrian movement in any situation where you need to direct, contain, or separate people from hazards or restricted areas. Common applications include outdoor events and festivals, construction site perimeter demarcation, road works, queue management at public spaces, and vehicle crossing points on active sites.
Q. How do crowd control barriers link together?
A. Altrad Generation's Standard 2.3m Bar Pedestrian Barriers use a fully interlocking connection system. Position each barrier end-to-end with the next, engage the connectors, and the run is secured. No tools are required, and the barriers can be taken apart just as quickly. The separate feet allow you to swap between foot types to suit your surface.
Q. What is the difference between a bollard and a barrier?
A. Bollards are fixed vertical posts anchored into the ground, designed to block vehicle access or mark a boundary permanently. Pedestrian barriers and crowd barriers are temporary, freestanding, and interlocking panels that you can assemble into a run, reconfigure, and move between sites as needed. Barriers are the right choice wherever you need rapid deployment, flexibility, and the ability to create a managed pedestrian flow rather than a fixed obstruction.
