Actavo supports local artist for upcoming Tour of Britain

On Tuesday 6th September, participants in the Tour of Britain – the national premier road cycling event – will finish their stage 3 leg at Tatton Park, Cheshire. Greeting them will be a spectacular display of 25 bikes and numerous bike parts – all painted in the bright Cheshire orange and decorated with kiln-fired glass – that appears to be suspended in thin air.

Artist and owner of The Silver Zebra Glass Studio, Deborah Moses, is the brains behind the masterpiece. Actavo | Hire & Sales Solutions has shown its support to Deborah by providing the scaffold tubes and fittings to form the structures from which the bikes will be suspended.

Jason Gardner, Actavo Manchester branch manager commented: “Many of our customers and our own team are avid cyclists, so it's great for Actavo to be able play a small part in such a huge event. A link in the chain, so to speak!”

The installation was revealed to the public on Tuesday and we are extremely happy with the reaction. The spectacle features life-size bikes - from toddlers’ balance bikes and those with stabilisers to fully-fledged racing bikes. All of the bikes are decorated in ways inspired by everything that's great about Cheshire. We're hoping to wow visitors of all ages and to have them wonder how did they get all that up there!"

A number of Actavo | Hire & Sales and Actavo Direct colleagues will be at Tatton Park on the day to support the cyclists in the annual sporting event and, of course, Deborah.

Make sure you come along to this stage of the country’s largest cycling sporting event – it’s bound to be an exciting, thrilling day! We hope to see you there.
