eCommerce and Website Sales and Marketing

Generation UK is developing its team managing its web and inbound channels and enquiries.  The development of  eCommerce and digital channels requires a central team to support Altrad Generation’s 39 UK branch and national accounts network.  The role involves the prompt handling and response to:

  • eCommerce orders via
  • 0800 calls from a mix of new and existing customers
  • Live chat, contact forms and quote enquiries 
  • National account enquiries requiring a single point of contact and/or telephone calls
  • Oversight of Generation’s sales and marketing systems i.e. Hubspot, eCommerce  and Barbour ABI

To achieve this the candidate will need to:

  • Communicate via email, chat and phone with Altrad Generation customers and prospects
  • Co-ordinate with the relevant branch, sales team, department and/or supplier to handle enquiries
  • Price and write quotes in response to quote requests and sales orders
  • Record and track the handling of the enquiry and outcomes either centrally or by the branch
  • Follow up written quote requests by phone and email
  • Support National Accounts management and relationship building
  • Work with the design and marketing team to ensure correct product content across all channels

The enquiries handled will be for the hire and sale of scaffolding, temporary fencing, health and safety equipment and groundworks for use in construction and industrial services.  Knowledge of the construction market is preferable but not required and full training and support will be provided. 

The role will suit somebody looking for experience into Inside Sales and eCommerce within an organisation reshaping these channels.  The role will give breadth of experience, the opportunity to make a difference, a supportive team environment with the autonomy to shape and develop the role. 

Qualifications and Education Requirements

The right candidate:

  • Is PC literate, understanding how to use Word and Excel to create and review content
  • Demonstrates strong communication and literacy skills
  • Has English Language and Maths GCSEs of Grade ‘C’ or better.

The role is Full Time contracted role.   

Location and Hours

The role will be office based at Altrad Generation’s Manchester branch. 
The working hours will be Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm with an hour for lunch.
